Hi there,
I have a dodgy Hp 3650 printer.
It used to work perfectly, but now does not. Power cords all seem fine, but
there's definitely something up with the printer itself. Regardless of
whether USB is connected or not, it just will not switch on. The power-light
on the 'on/off' key flashes on for literally half a second, then it switches
off. Windows has issues recognising it, although it seems fine offline, the
printer itself just wont switch on or print. I suspected a dodgy power
supply but it appears to be supplying power perfectly adequetly!I mean the
LED comes on when i press the power button, but only the first time after
unplugging the plug then putting it back in to the printer. Sometimes, like
just now, I try to switch it on, and it just wont. When you power it on, the
'ding-ding' USB connected noise in windows XP, then instantly makes the usb
'ding-ding' disconnect noise after the LED's went off on the power button
after half a second or so.
So it seems it gets power for a very short period of time most times when
the power button is pressed, but does not actually allow the printer to stay
on. I can't see of any error-checking that the printer does on itself when
it's powered on.
It's connected via USB, but whether it's connected or not, it should switch
on when powered up, nothing's happening at all.
Anybody experienced this before with the inkjet or even other printers? The
cartridges I've been using have been refilled once or twice, but surely
things like that wouldn't stop the printer powering on?!
