I have a customer with an HP 3200m all-in-one. Before reinstalling
WinXP for an unrelated issue, he is no longer able to scan with this
device. I have scoured the web for drivers and have only found print
drivers; nothing to do with the scanner. Windows does not detect the
scanner and I cannot add it manually without the driver. Any help is
appreciated.

The driver on that page did not work with my hardware. Windows
reported that the driver contains no information about my hardware. I
have Viewscan installed, but it will not work if Windows doesn't
recognize the scanner.

Normally, the software for those "multi function" beast needs to be
loaded before WindowsXP sees it on the end of the cable. Also since tis
was a reinstall are the motherboard drivers installed and the USB
connections working?

All appropriate Dell drivers have been installed and USB ports are
working. I had installed the printer driver and software before
plugging the device in, but Windows still doesn't recognize the scanner
portion.

No, the scanner is not detected at all by the computer. Neither by
Windows nor the HP scanning software.
