HP 2600n won't print magenta from Windows

It's quit printing anything from the magenta cartidge in Windows. It will
print the supplies status and troubleshoot pages from the printer's
diagnostics program perfectly, but not from Windows - even a test page has no
magenta I've uninstalled and reinstalled the printer, but that made no
difference..

You state, "I've uninstalled and reinstalled the printer", while doing
this, was the printer connected to your PC? If it was, you did it
incorrectly. See the below info and disconnect the printer from the PC
first before doing anything. As long as you have the installation CD,
during reinstallation you'll be prompted when to connect it and when to
turn it on.

I presume you have checked that the magenta ink cartridge actually has some
ink in it?

I've uninstalled it completely and correctly, even reinstalled it as a USB
instead of a network printer.....using the latest drivers from HP

The cartridge status showed 1/2 full, but I put in a new cartridge anyway
just to make sure - no luck!

Did you run a cleaning cycle after putting the new cartridge in? What make
and model of printer is this? The time period between when it last worked
and now... was it a long time or just a day or so?
