HP 2420 Printers

Hi,
We have several 2000 servers in our network. We recently changed printers
from HP 2300 to HP 2420. I have been unable to add the driver. I keep getting
the following error message:
The operation was not completed. Unable to add driver.
Does anyone know what would cause this?
I have tried through server properties and the add printer wizard, no luck.

Have you downloaded the latest HP driver for W2000?

Event log errors?
 
I downloaded the driver before I attempted to add the printer. Some of the
servers will allow installation (2000) and all of the 2003 servers will. The
exact error is "Unable to install HP LaserJet 2420 PCL 6, Windows 2000, Intel
driver. Operation could not be completed." Event viewer error "The printer
could not be installed."

Can you install a "fake" printer, using one of the built-in drivers, as a
test?
 
Yes. Currently we have HP 2300's, 4050's, 4100's and 4200's all on the
server. I have had the problem before, but after doing a Window's update then
I could install the driver. No luck on this one.
