Hi, ever since going from win 9x to XP my HP1220C toolbox is unable to
monitor the printer. In other words, the bi-directional print function does
not work.
There are many threads on this issue but none seem to have a fix. The cause
seems to be very poor software by HP.
I have tried:
1: changing parallel modes in bios, EPP ECP etc.
2: downloading the latest drivers
3: using the USB port
4: changing every setting i can find in XP
5: throwing the printer out of a window!
all without result.
Has anybody gotten their bi-directional function to work properly under XP
or is it a lost cause. I dont want to have to buy a HP printer server module
which is currently the only way round the problem as i understand.
Thanks, Mark
