I have an HP 1100 A printer that worked fine under Win XP/Pro until I had to reload the OS. Now it either cannot find the printer or reports it off line even when it is not. I have unloaded, reloaded, disconected and reconnected the printer a dozen times. I am at a loss. HP has been no help at all

My system is a HP Pavilion with 386 Mb memory, win XP/Pro, and 60 Gb HDD. Any suggestions
 
Yeah, if you reloaded your OS with your printer still connected to the
computer then you'll have to uninstall the printer completely like above
link. When you install the driver again, LEAVE the printer disconnected
untill the install is complete then reconnect the printer..........
