Hello,

I have a computer with a cable-modem for internetconnection. This card must
be configured for DHCP in order to obtain an IP-address from the
internet-provider.
I have another NIC installed for connection to my laptop. Now I want to
share the internet connection so that I can connect to the internet from my
laptop.

It worked. But then I started to reconfigure stuff and now I don't know how
to setup the cards and protocols in order to share the internet connection
again.

Questions: which card should have the Share Internet Connection flag set?
How should I configure my 2nd card to forward the internet IP traffic? And
how should I configure my laptop NIC (DHCP or fixed IP) and internet
settings?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Very easy with Win2K. The only things you've to do is
to "say" to your computer you want to share the Internet
connexion. THe system does all the job for you.

Take the settings of your internet connexion and use the
share tab. Very easy to find parameters of this tab.
Follow indications written and then connect your computer
to the web.

Normally, once your laptop can connect to your "internet
computer" your laptop will join internet too. And even can
start the connexion while your play on the Win2K system,
that's to say that your server is doing another job, not
internet. The laptop can start your internet connexion
without the server do it for it.

The simple way to share your connexion doing that will
start a proxy system in the Win2K OS.

Enjoy with the net on your laptop!
