Hi Ramesh,

You can send a message to user within your network group by using the "Net
Send" command.
Syntax is :- Net Send <machine name> "message"
Example :- Net Send Machine1 "Hello"

Note:- "" are required if you want to use some special characters.

you might wanna check this on Win98 as I doubt it'll work.
net send needs the messenger service up and running and I
don't think win95/98/me have this. I know certainly
NT/2000/XP do have this.

Moot out ...

A Win8 PC will not see the message unless WinPOPUP is running because a 9x
machine does not run messenger service.

Try Bassline WinPopUp, http://basslinesoft.com
It works in Windows 9x/Me/2k/XP.

Use WinMessenger. Works with all W9x, W2K and XP.
Download it from http://www.winpopup.com
