howto change file ext. wps-rtf

Don't have Word have to use MS Works for word processing capabilities. Would
like to change file extension for revising resume. And most recruiters won't
accept wps. only rtf. or doc. Any suggestions?
 
When you save the file, select "save as" .
Then you choose .doc or .rtf..
