Al Klayton

I've just switched from Win98 to XP Pro and would like to transfer the old
mailbox.pst and mailbox.pab info ( I have these files) from Win98/Outlook
Express to the appropriate folder in XP Pro/Outlook Express 6. Would
appreciate any guidance on how to do this and exactly where this info goes
in XP.
Thx,
Al

Hi Al,

Outlook Express uses .dbx (or .mbx in older versions), not .pst or .pab -
those are Outlook files. Generally, all you really need to do is copy the
files to the new system, then use the import function on the file menu and
point to them. Exact steps depend on the actual program(s) you are using in
each system.

OE/WinXP can only import the data if OL is (1) also running on the WinXP
machine and (2) using the PST and PAB files you want to import.

OL/Win98 > CD/FAST Wizard > OE/WinXP? Nope.

OL/Win98 > OE/Win98 > CD/FAST Wizard> OE/WinXP? Yep.
