How will installing XP PRO affect existing installations!

Installing a legal copy of XP PRO seems to be a minefield.

I run Office 2000 with the programs bundled with it. Is XP PRO
likely to fall out with those installations. Reading the bumph it
seems that XP PRO can fall out with recent versions of Office, is
Office 2000 now so old that XP PRO will not accomodate it?
 
Windows XP Pro works fine with Office 2000.

All data should be safe during upgrade, back-up important data just in
case.
