how well is Vista selling, on new systems and as upgrade?

Just curious, but are the sales of Vista on new and old computers about what
MS expected? How are overall PC sales doing at this time, about what
expected?

From what I've seen, mostly on new systems you don't have much choice.

My wife purchased a new Sony Viao laptop just days after Vista release and
it was pre-installed with Vista Premium

I guess the point I was trying to get to is- now that most manufacturers are
installing Vista- how has that affected PC sales?

If people need a new PC, they are going to buy it because of that need.

If people want Vista, many will buy a new PC so as to make certain
everything will be compatible.

Suggest you check the financial web sites for information you seek.
