Hello

I have two users on my Win2000 laptop. "Administrator"
and "Toshiba". However on boot up the "Administrator"
account is the one that automatically logs in. I would
liek to chnage this so "Toshiba" user is the one that logs
in by default. The Toshiba account is an admin account as
well. How can I change this?

Thanks,

Troy.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

set DefaultUserName to the UserName you wish to logon.

Set DefaultPassword to this user's password if you want it to automatically
log you on

See the link below on how to configure the account you want to start up with
autologon.

You can use lusrmgr.msc to open the Management Console for Local Users and Groups. Go
to groups and fund administrators group where you can select properties and add or
remove users. I would highly recommend that you use complex passwords for the built
in administrators account and any other accounts in the administrators groups to
greatly reduce chance of being hacked and write down the password of the built in
administrators account and put it in a couple of safe places as you will probably
need it some time. --- Steve
