I, recently caught a virus in which I had to delete the file "updater.exe"
out of the Programs Files/Common Files/Updater.

1 - Do I need that file ? If so, how can I install it again?
2 - As part of deleting that file, I had to restore my computer to an
earlier date, way way back. How can I reinstall the windows updates between
then and now ?

THANK YOU !!!!!!!!!

Greetings --

There is no such file that's part of WinXP. Have you installed
any 3rd-party applications that may have required it? It may have
been the virus, itself.

1) The answer to that question depends on what program(s) are affected by
deleting that file. The only way you will be able to tell is when you go to
update a program and get an error saying it can't update due to a lost
updater file. In that case you may need to uninstall/reinstall that
particular program/or programs. Trial and error.

2) The Windows updater should automatically detect which updates you need
including the ones you deleted when doing the restore.

Good luck,

Ray
