Hello,

I need to clean my C:\ drive (erase EVERYTHING) and
reinstall W2000Pro; the problem is that it is the system
and boot partition for W2000. On the same reason I cannot
format it from the Command Prompt.
Will just the new installation of W2000 do the job?

Thanks,
Jenno

no it wont work, you will have to go in to the bios when
starting up (probably f2) and you will have to change the
system boot order so the cd rom drive boots up first.
Then put the cd rom in the drive and reboot the system,
when it is starting up you will see press ANy kney to but
from cd rom press anykey and follow the instructions

Also, to avoid partition naming problems, it's best you abort the
install process once you've deleted the old C: and restart it by a
reboot. If you don't, the new partition may not be named C: and you'll
wind up with W2k installed where you want but that partition will be
named D: or E: or something else depending on your config.

booot from floppy using win98 startup disk, run Fdisk /
format and setup the way you want

then set to boot from CD, boot into win2K CD and start
install
