is it plausible to see this in the 'details-classification' in windows
explorer?

Just hover the mouse pointer over it and hold it there for a short while...

with your solution I can see 1 folder a time. Is it plausible to view it on
the same way as in the details-view in windows explorer?

XYplorer can do it on the fly: Shift+F5 will calculate the size of all
folders currently listed in details view.

You can also place the cursor on the Folder and click on File, Properties.
This gives you the sum of the contents of the Folder and Sub-Folders. I am
less familiar with Vista than Windows XP but from what others are saying you
need third party software to be able to see at glance where the larger files
in the folder are.

Hope this helps
