How to view internet traffic, i.e bytes sent & received

Hi
Our home internet traffic (measured in MB) has increased significantly over
the last couple of months, but our internet useage has not changed much. Is
there a way to view which sites were visited and how much data was
transmitted whilst at that site for say each day? We would like to know why
our MB used has increased so much and would like to be able to track it, so
we know it is not due to viruses etc or something sinister. Thanks

You'll need a third-party application to probably do what you want, with
logs and all. See:
