In approch when in browse, there is a checkoff if you want to hide view, you
can check box and it will take away tab at top of page. If you want to show
view, the top of the form displays an index tab showing the name of your form
to return to.

Your post has no question in it, just a statement. From your post, I can't
figure out what your question is. Don't tell us what "Approach" did, tell
us what you are trying to accomplish and perhaps we can help. Having never
seen Approach, I would be less likely to be able to help you if you try to
compare the feature.

You say there is a checkoff to hide view. What view? Not sure what you
need here. Please post more details.

Do you have a question, Linda?

Approach is one program. Access is a different program. Access is not
a failed implementation of Approach; IT IS DIFFERENT, and if you want
to use it productively you need to work with it, rather than assuming
that everything works exactly as it does in Approach.

Step back a bit, and describe what real-life problem you are trying to
solve. Access can do what you want, I'm sure; with some careful forms
design and perhaps some VBA code, it can even be made to look like
Approach, if that's essential. But try first putting your Approach
approach on the shelf for a bit, and access your data with Access
instead.

i didn't realize you came to these sites to be chastized..........i'm looking
to design my forms in such a way as to show a tab at the top of each form so
i can easily move from form to form without designing buttons to take you
back to a central location. better?

You can build a tab control on your forms and then put anything you want on
each tab control.

The tab control is one of the standard items in the toolbox.

This does not move you from "form to form" though. If you want to open a
new form, a tab does not do it. You could put the different forms (as
subforms) on each tab.

I'd like to add that you should be grateful to be "chastised" (or more
accurately given useful feedback on how to ask your question in such a way
that the VOLUNTEERS on the forum are able to, for free, give you useful
help). He could have simply ignored your question, since there was no way
to answer it as asked.
