How do I view contacts by having the e-mail address instead of the
names be the priorty?

Can you be more explicit? View them where? What version of Outlook?

When I open my contacts names are displayed. I can't see e-mail addresses.
How do I have e-mail addresses show in the first column instead of names?
Thanks Dee C

There is still no way to answer you. You still haven't stated the view to
which you are referring. You can configure views of Contacts Folders any way
you want. You cannot configure the address book view at all.

So...How do I cinfigure the view in the contact folder to show e-mail
addresses? I have used a very different e-mail server for years and only had
an address book. I was not understanding how the contact folder differs from
an address book. Your comments helped me to focus on these two separate
entities in Outlook 2007. I'm still finding my way around. Does the contact
folder pull the information from the address book? I'm still not clear on
why there are two different places. Sorry if this seems a trivial question,
but I really want to understand the need for both.
Thanks,
Dee C

There is no data in the address book view. It is merely a view of the
electronic addresses that reside in the Contacts Folder. Any list view of
the Contacts Folder can be configured to show the email address by adding
the "Email" field to the view using Field Chooser.

What view of your Contacts folder are you using?
