My tech support (and I use the term support loosely) dept. tells me that

Microsoft has discontinued the briefcase "tool" in Windows XP and that is
why I can't find it on the newly installed hard drive. Does not make sense
to me, does anyone know if this is true?

I've been to this site many times, it gives a great description of how to use briefcase. The problem is the brief case icon is no where to be found, not under file--new, not by right clicking on the desktop. The tech support explanation was, they don't support it any more. I've already had a conversation with the tech support manager explaining that this was one of the dumbest explanations I have ever heard, since the briefcase function worked fine before they replaced my hard drive (with the same operating system I might add)

Pay is probably part of the problem. I work for a small college and our tech support consists mostly of low paid students, as near as I can figure the only requirement for the job is that you know how to turn a computer on (I once spent half an hour trying to explain the difference between a printer power cord and interface cable, because they could not bring me the right one, but that is another story.......
