How to use ScanSuite with Epson scanner? Trouble with Epson's app.

Hi, I used to have a Microtek X6 scanner and I got ScanSuite with it. Now I
have an Epson RX600 combo printer/scanner. It came with Epson's All In One
Smart Panel. I liked the functionality of ScanSuite better. However, I can't
seem to get it to recognize my Epson All In One, it tells me it can't find
any scanners and to do a SCSI check. I'm using USB1 with the Epson. Any way
to upgrade ScanSuite to work with my Epson? If not, at least, any way to
view my scanned images while using Epson's software. It seems I have to
close the scanning application down, and then it displays what I scanned in
PhotoImpression, I think. But then I have to start the application from
scratch to scan more, and I can't find any settings that will let me keep
the application open and view new scans at the same time. Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately, no. At least not in practical terms.

Thanks for the reply. I posted a new thread on getting my Epson application
to work right.

I am trying to scan and save hundreds of old letters as images to a CD
using Epson RX425. Copy center will make excellent copies but has no way
to save them. Other formats are either too large or come out too dark or
take with a dark background so they are illegible. Where are the
options to get the background lighter?

You should have several options, the first is to scan using the Epson Pro
mode where you can set the scanning parameters as needed.

I don't know what software you are using to capture your images, but if you
use some TWAIN capable Photo software such as Photoshop or the free
Irfanview, you can adjust the scanning parameters to get the best scan.

Get the plugin also.

And you can edit and save the images.

Scan in Color at around 200 DPI should get you started.

Color because the faded documents can be captured better and you can edit
and find a color channel with the best clarity.

Then in your photo editor, you can reduce the image to a grayscale or
bitmap(B&W) image.
