I tried connecting the s-video to my tv and it didn't display anything. I
know that the cable works and that the input on my tv works because it
connected from my satellite box just fine.

have and x850t pe

Thanks

The TV must be connected and turned on before booting up the PC.
Have you tried that?

Okay, finally got the latest driver and catalyst installed. And figured out
how to double up the "disabled display" (my tv) with my 2nd monitor. IThis
option wasn't available on the previous catalyst... atleast not that I saw.
I just wish that I could keep 1280x1024 screen resolution on the lcd I have
even though I know it doesn't matter on the tv.

X850XT can be VERY picky if it comes to V-out, reason is the drivers !!!

Oterwise you would only need an adapter (if the TV doesnt have a s-video
in)....actually the card should have all the cables supplied.

I remember i had a hard time getting it on TV...especially with recent
drivers this features (tv-out) is just BROKEN.

I double-checked this, say, 6 months ago...(sry i forgot the EXACT driver
version where it still worked)....drivers foloowing just did NOT put out a
picture on my TV.

It also helps using Ati Tray Tools and "forcing" the TV on.

Don't know what you're doing wrong, but I've been using TV out for years. I
had a 9800pro that worked great, and now I have a x1900xt which works fine
as well. I've never had "driver" problems.
I think maybe you just don't know how to set it up. It's very easy to do,
takes less then 5 min.
I have a hotkey assigned to do the switching and it works great. I used my
TV everyday to watch movies and DL'ed content. I also like to watch Youtube
videos on my TV. Way more comfortable to kick back in my comfortable chair
then having to sit in front of my PC. JLC
