how to use powerpoint

I have to download power point for a class project. I dont know anything
about it. I downloaded powerpoint trial 2007, but I have microsoft office
basic edition 2003, I haven't yet had the opporinutiy to use it since I
recieved my computer. are they compatable, what is in it and how does it
differ?

Office 2003 Basic Edition doesn't include PowerPoint.

The 2007 trial version will include PowerPoint but installing it may cause
problems for your existing 2003 installation or replace it altogether, and the
trial will "expire" after a month or so. That could leave you with no working
copy of Office. Let's not do that.

But do you have an Office 2003 CD? If so, you'd be able to install it again in
the event of any problems.
