How to use different Style designs in the same presentation?

I want to use different Style designs in the same presentation file. But
everytime I try to change the style for one slide, all the others likewise
change. How do I get around this?

Select the slides you want to change (ctrl click)

Hover the mouse over your second design in the design pane. You should see a
drop down menu appear. Choose "apply to selected slides"
