I have pentium 4 with windows xp installed. can i attach some controllers
with the computer to play games so I use controllers instead of mouse and
keyboard. what is the advantage of doing that, are there special games to be
played by controllers, what are the name of contollers and games.
Perhaps I can attach 2 monitors with a computer if so is it possible to use
different controls for each monitor so that 2 persons can play different
games on same computer simultaneusly?
so many questions!!!!! thanks a lot, a lot.

Hi noname,

Game Controllers:

Game controllers will work with most games that are sold with the description:
PC games - There are very few exceptions. Freelancer for example requires
a keyboard and a mouse to play, and it works quite well that way.

Multiplayer:

Most games are not head to head games, but rather they allow you to play
online or through a LAN in a multiplayer environment against several players.

I hope that helps answer some of your PC gaming questions.

Generally speaking most games work better with the keyboard and the mouse,
the only exceptions would probably be racing games and maybe sport titles -
which hasn't had much focus on the PC for years and show that from a quality
stand point.

You can probably attach more monitors (video card permitting) - however very
few games support using both monitors... And I can't think of any that
allow 2 players to use each monitor.

Multiplayer PC is done with multiple machines over a network. Pretty much
all multiplayer PC games have network and internet play. Another important
things to note with PC gaming is graphics and RAM requirements, too often PC
manufacturers ship with bare minimum RAM and graphics cards that are only
just above below-useless status for modern games.

So to answer the question overall no, a PC can't be used like that -
although there are a few games that support stuff like that, football games
are the only ones that come to mind at the moment (and that's on a single
monitor). The vast library of PC titles (and all of the decent ones) all do
multiplayer over a network.
