how to use a distribution list where recipient sees only his name

is there anyway to send an email to a distribution list but the recipient
sees ONLY his/her name in the To: box. I'm often sending to the same people
but don't want them to know about each other and it's a pain to redo the same
message over and over.

No. That requires a mail merge to electronic mail, which cannot use a DL.
