Hi,
I am running windows Xp and let my friend look after my
computer while I was away. He installed windows 2000 on
my computer. When I realized this I tried to access 2000
to see if I could uninstall. It came up with this
message"some files have been deleted please reinstall
disc to fix problem."problem being I have no 2000 disc!
This program is taking up a lot of my space... Could
somebody please tell me how to manually uninstall windows
2000? I am somewhat knowledgeable but have no idea how to
get windows 2000 off this computer of mine.Any help would
be deeply appreciated..Thanks for your help in advance
Sincerely Johnny

In Windows XP, open a CMD.exe prompt and type:
attrib -r -s -h c:\boot.ini

Open boot.ini on notepad and remove the Windows 2000 entry, making sure that
default points to Windows XP (You can use Control Panel / System / Advanced /
Start.... to set the default.) You can also see the default timer value.

Delete the c:\Winnt folder.
