how to uninstall wan miniport?

when i install win2000 on my pc,i found wan miniport
(ppt,lpt),parallel port in network connecton.Then it took
a very long time(15 minutes) to startup the computer.I
want to uninstall the wan miniport,but appear the the
message "you can't uninstall this device,the computer
startup require it!"
I found the wan miniport via the internet,it is the
equipment for isdn etc.
what can i do ?
