How to uninstall vista

My notebook computer(Thinkpad T43) has only one partition... I installed
vista yesterday. It moved my windows xp("program files","windows","documents
and settings") to a folder named windows.old...
I want to uninstall vista....How to ?
I really unable to format my harddrive(80GB)...a lot of important files....

Hi Yu Weny,

Copy your important files to removable media (CD/DVD, etc.), then format the
system and reinstall XP. There is no uninstall option for this type of
upgrade. Not trying to be mean, but you should have read the release notes
before installing it. It should never be installed on a production systems,
and all upgrades are a one-way street. It should only be installed on test
equipment (where data loss is not important) or secondary volumes as a dual
boot.

Yes it can be done but I understand that the success rate is so-so and that
it takes longer than just reinstalling.
