How to uninstall quicktime?

I have quicktime installed and want to only run WMP. My problem is that
despite using uninstatl via the control panel or via the program itself - it
states it has gone but there it sits on my desktop and if I click a web link
that requires quicktime it resurects itself. What annoyed me the other day
was that "it" attempted to take control of all of my video clips the other
day - someting I did not ask for or want. But killing it off is a real
problem. Any hints?

Download the quicktime (only) standalone installer from this link:
http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/win.html . Turn off your
antivirus program temporarily. Reinstall quicktime. Then try uninstalling
quicktime either from "add/remove programs" or from the program files menu
item for quicktime. Restart your computer if the uninstall is successful
this time.

Allan,
It work like a charm - Top Bananna!

WOOOOW!!! Just did a file search on "quicktime" - I note about 50 files in
various locations:including Insataller/player/exe files the lot. Do I just
delete all of these now? In control panel / uninstall quick time is no loger
showing.
