A "helpful" child updated MediaPlayer from 9 to 10 but no one else in the
family can tolerate the new version. How do we revert to version 9? We have
downloaded 9 from the Microsoft website and placed the install file in a temp
folder. Been into Control Panel and clicked "remove Windows components" and
clicked only on Media Player. The uninstall seems to work, but after
rebooting, MediaPlayer 10 is still there. So when we run the Version 9
install it bails out with the message that a more current version is already
installed.

Better get used to using WMP10. Microsoft will not support older versions
once Longhorn goes to market. Version 10 has better security if your online
to
download music, getting album info, etc.
