We have an old version of Java 1.5.0_03 that didn't uninstall all of the way.
For the life of me I can't figure out how to get rid of it. It is causing
the newer versions to not install correctly. When I click on the icon in
control panel it gives a message that the system cannot find the registry key
specified.
Windows XP SP2 IE6

If anyone on this forum can help I'd be grateful...if I'm in the wrong place
feel free to yell at me but then tell me where to go!!!

Thanks!!!

Try going into C:\Program Files and Deleting the Java Folder. Also go to
Start>Run type: regedit
Navigate to Hkey_Local_Machine\Software\Java or Sun folder Delete it
same with
Hkey_Current_User\Software\Java if there.

Thanks for the input.
Already deleted Java Folder from program files.
When I try to delete from regedit I get the message: Cannot delete
JavaSoft:Error while deleting key
So now what?! This is driving me nuts and wasting alot of my time!!!

Thanks!!!!

hey

i found that when i uninstall things alot of the files do not uninstall
same for the registry keys so i usely run ccleaner(download from
www.filehippo.com) and run clean and issues, and i somtimes run spypot
S&D, in advance mode ther are tools one is called system internals that
also checks ur registry but in places other programs wont so between
these 2 programs i usely get things clean with little effort on my
part.

both can be downloaded free at www.filehippo.com
