Is there freeware file recovery software for flash drives you recommend?

The files are all there but the file names turned to garbage. How can I
save the files on my accidentally momentarily erased Sandisk u3 usb flash
drive?

Note: The damn U3 GUI puts the erase right next to the password hint button
and it doesn't even ask "Are you sure?".

Now, all I want to do is recover my files.
Is there freeware file recovery software for flash drives you recommend?
