In Access 2003 I had the ability to manipulate field column headers and field
details separately. In 2007, whenever the field in a report is selected, the
field column heading is automatically selected as well. I could not find a
way to manipulate these controls separately.

Please tell me how each control (field detail and field header) can be
handled separately. I want to be able to move one away from the other, size
them differently, etc.

details separately. In 2007, whenever the field in a report is selected, the

way to manipulate these controls separately.

Please tell me how each control (field detail and field header) can be
handled separately. I want to be able to move one away from the other, size

Select the control. The upper left corner of the control (and of the
associated label) will show a square. Left-click on that square and
you can move the control separately from it's associated control.

To size a control, simply select it. Note the smaller squares on the
border. Place the cursor over one of them and it becomes a 2 way
arrow. Drag the smaller squares in the direction of the arrow.

To place the control's label in a different report section, i.e. the
test control is in the detail section but you want the label in the
Page Header section, select each of the label controls and cut them.
Place the cursor in the Page Header. Paste. Now you can position each
label without regard to it's previously associated text control.
