I have just installed Vista and noticed that my wireless adapter is not
working though all the drivers are installed. There is a button that is used
to enable and disable the wireless adapter but after installing Vista that
button is not working so I can't turn on my Wireless Adapter (Broadcom
802.11g)... any suggestion?

Hello,

- Click Start
- Click Control Panel
- Click Network and Internet
- Click Network Center
- In the left pane, click Manage network connections

Is your wireless device listed here?

If it is listed, it may be disabled. Right-click it, and if there is an
option to Enable it, click that option.

yes the network icon is there but when i try to connect, it says the wireless
network adapter on this computer is turned off and ask me to turn it on.
But the button or switch that I used to turn it on is not working though its
working with other operating system installed on my laptop (dual boot)??

Hmm, I figured pressing the button was just enabling/disabling the device,
same as you could thru the control panel I mentioned. That's how my laptop
works.

Sounds like yours works differently than mine...

In any case, you need a program from your laptop manufacturer to make this
work. Specifically, the program that recognizes the button press and does
whatever magic is necessary to turn on your wireless adapter.

You should login to your computer manufacturer's support website and see if
you can find the tools you need.

Unfortunately, they probably won't have anything specific for Vista. Try to
get the Windows XP version as that may work.

The same thing happened to me. I went to Dell and downloaded new drivers. Did
not help. In the lower right hand tool bar it will say Wireless network
acvailable. Then when I click on Network in Vista there is nothing there. Any
suggestions.

Hello again,
Acer support team has suggested me to install Acer Lauch Manager which I did
but all in vain as my problem's still there.

1. install the LM in server 2003 sp1 compat mode
2. make sure you reboot, then make sure wireless is on
3. if you are connected via ethernet, try windows update for drivers
for the broadcom G card
4. if you don't have a wired connection, install the XP driver. then
see if there is an update for it
