How to turn off volume in Explorer

When multitasking a pop-up window can balst away on volume. How can I turn
off volume for explorer only so I can multitask???
 
Tools...Internet Options...Advanced has a check box for "play sounds in web
pages". If you uncheck it, it may accomplish what you want.
 
Thanks Mike....I had that unchecked but had to uncheck play video box also to
get full relief
