One feature of XP that has been a bother but now is a problem is that the
system seeks to reboot on its own following updates. I went out to lunch and
Windows rebooted. THis is the feature that prompts you that Windows is going
to reboot unless you tell it to later - do nothing and it reboots and you
lose anything unsaved.
Yes, yes there are all sorts of counsels about saving, but I would much
rather have the dialogue box remind me and let the user set the time for the
reboot. I tend to run long sweeps of time on projects that require keeping
multiple windows open. There are risks in that but it works - until "someone"
you thought was on your side shuts everything down.
Can this feature be modified? The dialoque box never offers but two choices,
reboot now (the default) or reboot later. TIA...
