how to turn off log on box at windows start up

I was wondering if anyone could help me to turn off the
box that appears at the windows startup that asks you to
log in as a user on the computer. I installed a network
component under the networking tab in the properties of a
connection (accidently), and now every time I start up I
have to log on as a user. thanks for your help.
