How to turn Alerts tab on

I accidentally went into MSN chat. When it tried to install something I
cancelled it. But now I have this tab on the left hand side of MSN Messenger
and it won;t go away. I like my MSN display skinny and the tab is just
taking too much space. How do I turn it off?

To turn off the tab, open up the main Messenger window, click the Tools menu, then Options,
then Privacy tab, check 'This is a shared computer, so don't display my tabs' and then click
OK.
