How to troubleshoot possible USB conflicts? (Palm Hotsync)

I have a Windows 2000 system, and have had my palm USB connections work,
as well as a storage device for various cards (and a USB port included
too), foot pedals and flight yoke.

I used to do hotsync's on my palm pilot, but haven't done so in awhile.

Since the last hotsync, I've installed a scanner (CanoScan 8000F) and
more recently a camera (Fuji FinePix A205). Both of those have worked
after installation.

So, I'm trying to do a hotsync on my palm pilot (m500), and it won't
work. I have two cradles, and I've tried each one without success.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled the Palm Desktop software, without
success on the USB hotsync procedure.

I'm concerned about yanking all references to the USB drivers in the
device manager as I'm not sure I can find all the driver software
(particularly the mass storage device that handles memory/flash cards,
USB port), but am wondering how to resolve this conflict.

Any suggestions?

I push the hotsync button on my cradle, and it won't initiate a hotsync
session. ergo, it won't work.

I have the hotsync manager icon in my system tray on startup.

Never mind... I used Hijack This to look at a couple of startup
features, and I deleted regshave and another one associated with the
fuji fine pixviewer, and once I did that, I was able to hotsync my palm.

the regshave entry was apparently mentioned as being useless, but also
in other web pages, it's mentioned as spyware.
