Here's the story. I have a Dell Precision 420 with
Windows 2000 sp4. I started having problem with Windows
Explorer not starting. I re-installed from web and the
same thing continued to happen. I found out after trying
to solve the next problem that this is a Windows Explorer
6 sp1 issue.

I wish I knew this before attempting to reinstall Windows
Explorer from the CD. During the re-start of the setup
the blue screen error RDR_FILE_SYSTEM occured and now in
which ever safe mode I try it still occurs. This is what
Microsoft has to say about it.

I did disable the scsi CD burner, but no results. Without
a safe mode option, I looking at installing a new scsi
harddrive and intsalll the os on it so I can salvage the
few files that weren't backed up. Does anyone have other
options.
Thanks in advance
