Hi,

I often get file download errors with my ActiveX control embedded in a web page. Most probably they are due to wrong versions of vb runtime resources on the client pc.
How do I check what went wrong? I only see a red cross square on the page.
Is there a log file written somewhere? Is there something similar as CDLLOGVW.EXE for IE 4.0?

Hi Christof,

Clear all the Temporary Internet Files cache, try to download the CAB again. Internet Explorer generates the ?CodeDownload log when a ActiveX component download fails. From the Temporary Internet Files cache, you can view this log by opening an instance of Internet Explorer and dragging the html file to the browser window. The ActiveX component failure log is displayed.

I cleared the cache and tried again. There is no ?CodeDownload log, though.
What's going wrong?
BTW: I'm using IE6.0 on XP SP1.
