I have been running Outlook for several years using Outlook 2000 and Windows98.

I have a new computer that also runs Outlook 2000 but on XP. I have a desk
top H/D I want to use to transfer data from the old to the new. How do I
transfer my Outlook folders - the old e mails, calender and Contacts?.

In future I want to use the old system as a backup to the new. Once I've
got the old data onto the new computer can I juts reverse the process to
backup onto the old?

Hi,

For personal users who do not have an Exchange Server, Outlook data is stored in Personal Folder files (*.pst). Outlook uses Personal Folder files to store Information such as
messages, contacts, calendar, etc.

Before you perform the following steps, please refer to the following Microsoft Knowledge Base (KB) articles to learn more about backing up the Outlook data and Office program
settings.
