Can anyone tell me how I can force windows 2000P to
automatically log off a user if the PC is idle for a
defined time limit?

Thanks

You can configure screen saver to lock the computer after a period of being
idle. You would also want to prevent users from changing that setting. That can
all be done via Group Policy \user configuration\administrative
templates\control panel\display. To actually log a user off, a logoff screen
saver such as Winexit.scr from the Resource Kit will work but may require a
registry mod to work for non administrators. --- Steve
