Hey!

If my workstation (WinXP Pro) has the TCP/IP settings to use 3 different DNS
servers. Is there a way I can tell for sure which one of the three I'm
currently using?

Thanks!

The DNS servers are tried in the order they are listed. If the first does
not respond within the allowed time, the second is tried and so on down the
list. If you are really curious, you can use a network monitor (a.k.a., a
packet sniffer) to monitor the traffic. Ethereal is a nice freeware utility
and can be found at:

Yes I know how it works, I just wanted to know exactly which DNS a computer
is using at a specific time.
Ethereal is good, but kinda of a pain to use. I was more hoping there would
be an easy way to go to a workstation and type something in to figure out
which DNS it currently is using... there is no little config/ini file that
would show the info, or somewhere in the registry?

Thanks!
