is there any way to tell (besides looking at the vendor invoice which is not
fully descriptive) exactly what kind and speed of memory one has on one's
PC? is there any program which will scan the memory and report back? am
looking at getting more memory and want to make sure it's compatible

I have a Pentium III 866 with 2 X 512 MB memory and two memory banks empty,
want to fill the empty banks

Hi Peter. d\load and install `Everest Home Edition` (it`s free for home
use). it gives loads of valuable info about your machine.
best wishes..OJ

you could visit www.crucial .com .. they have a very useful menu system
which allows you to find the exact memory for your system .. you need to
know the brand and model of your system ...
