How to tell Outlook NOT to popup reminders after the event

Is there some way of telling outlook to not popup a pointless reminder
for an event that has been and gone?

When I arrive at work on Monday, I start Outlook and get all the
reminders for appointments/events that happened on the weekend (since
I last ran Outlook at work). This is rather annoying. I would think
that for most circumstances, if some event that was tied to a specific
time/date has already happened (the time is now in the past), you
wouldnt want to be reminded about it!

Using the /cleanreminders command-line option doesnt seem to do
anything here, especially because Outlook is being run when I plug my
Pocket PC into its cradle, and I certainly cant run the
/cleanreminders option at that point.

Any ideas? Has MS intended this to work in some way that I'm not
realising?

Sanchez.

MS designed Outlook to remind you of appointments until you dismiss the
reminders. If it's a regular problem either start outlook before cradling
the pda and dismiss reminders or don't set reminders for weekend dates.
