I am certain I have .NET Framework 1.1. How do I tell whether I have
installed SP1? It doesn't show up in Add or Remove Programs.

Open Control Panel > Administrative Tools. If you see Microsoft
.NET Framework 1.1 Configuration and Wizards in it then you have the
.NET installed.
