How to teleport an object repeatedly?

I want to thank Shawn for teaching us how to teleport. It's fun.

It takes me so long to align the red and green arrows. I guess I don't know
how to use the mouse and drag. Anyway, I have no problem teleporting an
object **automatically** around the slide (the four corners). But I can only
do it once. I am not sure how to loop until the end of slide (automatic
transition).

Appreciate advice.

No problem, glad you like it.

After shortening the motion path, the motion path's position maybe adjusted
automatically and you will need to re-position them again. If that is what
you are encountering, you can try this out. Hover over any ends of the path
and click on it. This will allow the path to "jump" back to its original
position.

Looping an effect is easy, but for multiple effects, you will probably need
to use custom show to loop the whole slide.

Hmm .... Custom show!! I did it once. I have text on the slide and I don't
really want to redisplay the text.

Let's say this is a kiosk presentation. After I have displayed the text, I
want to give the audience time to read the text. While they are reading, I
want to teleport the company logo until automatic transition kicks in.

Sounds like there is no easy way. Welcome comments but I think I'll wait
till I am more experienced.

Shawn, I sent you two sample slides as requested in another thread. Not
rushing you. Just to let you know.

Thanks.

You need a custom show, with that slide in it.
You need to duplicate the slide. On the original slide, have the text
animated and not the logo. While on the duplicated slide, make the
teleportation effect and do not animate the text.
Then you need an invisible (set AutoShape fill to 99%) AutoShape that covers
the entire original slide which hyperlinks to the custom show when you click
on it. You will need to put a checkmark to show and return as well.
Finally, go to Slide Show > Set Up Show. Put a checkmark on loop
continuously until Esc so that the custom show can loop.

Hope this helps.

There is a sample file with a looping custom show at the beginning of a main
show on my site, Epinn. Check the last paragraph here:
http://www.echosvoice.com/animationfeatures.htm

There's a link in that paragraph to TAJ's tutorial for a similar result, but
it's much more elegant. It might be overkill for what you're doing now, but
it will probably come in handy for you in future.

Thank you both. Appreciate your help.

Shawn, I think I understand what you suggested. I have to actually do it
....... I am not too sure about the part on "clicking" to hyperlink and I
have to see if there is an alternative. I can't really click because this
is a presentation running in a kiosk. But I remember last time when I added
the custom show feature, it ran automatically without clicking. Wonder if I
can do the same this time. I will experiment.

Thanks again.

A really dynamite effect, eh? ;-)

OK, watch this. Ready? Here we go.

There. Was that good? I just teleported myself to Timbuktu and back again.

Wow!! Keep amazing me, Steve. As you probably have noticed in my posts, I
wanted a **loop**....... ;>0

Thank you, Shawn. I have no problem doing what you suggested with the two
slides. Unfortunately, I feel that I can't incorporate the two slides into
the main show without using a more complicated method (e.g. linking/looping
techniques from http://www.awesomebackgrounds.com). This is because I am
not supposed to click to activate the custom show and I shouldn't hit "esc"
to end the custom show as the presentation runs automatically in a kiosk.

Anyway, I just use the "KISS" method. I have one slide for the animated
text and one slide for the teleport effect like you suggested. But, I
duplicate the teleport slide two more times and include those slides as part
of the presentation.

It turns out to be something like this - First slide plus ---> text
slide ---> teleport slide ---> teleport slide ---> teleport slide ---> rest
of the slides.

Automatic transition (0 seconds) for the teleport slides.

Considering that I only need to loop the teleport effects a couple of times,
it is not worth the effort of creating a few shows and put them together.
If you see any big problem with this, please let me know.

Thanks for being detailed. I appreciate it.

Echo,

Thank you for the links. I appreciate your pointing me to the right
direction. For this current project, I don't think I can use custom show
and link/loop may be too much; so I use the "KISS" method instead. Details
can be found in my reply to Shawn.
