How to take backup of ADS alone with out using system state backup

I want to take the backup of active directory only without
using NTBACKUP utility .This is because when I take backup
using system state , this also takes the backup of the COM
and other information which I can't restore back if
hardware of my new server is different from the old one.

Any clues ??

please read some documents about AD restoration, if You have a new
server with different hardware, for example
